WOOLLOO FARINELLI
(E-mail: woolloo@woolloo.it)
Born on September 12th, 1956, in Sydney (Australia),
daughter of an Italian diplomat, she grows up travelling
around the world. After finishing school, she continues
for some decades the nomad life of her childhood,
gathering professional experiences. In the late
eighties, she obtains her diploma of conservator
of paintings at the "Scuola di Restauro"
of Rome. After years dedicated to the conservation
of art - and working as a teacher at the same prestigious
school - she turns solely to painting.
The extensive studies of light and colour, its
vivid use, together with her finely honed eye for
captivating compositions make woolloo's work unusual.
Natural siena, cobalt, and ultramarine blues permeate
the landscapes, taking you on a journey into a dream.
Her skilled use of colour draws the viewers into
her canvasses and captivates their attention. She
uses her personal sense of space, dimension and
atmosphere to express contrasting emotions: apparently
cool, they convey a sense of passion. The result
is impressive in a very subtle and elegant style.
